The bible is a collection of pieces of documents written by different authors at different moment in time which somehow collides into a single document that aligns into a single message. How can that be if not divinely inspired?
Prophecies told in the bible are coming true today, yet they were told hundreds of years prior. How could that be if not divinely inspired?
The historical value of the bible is proven to be true since archeologist found evidence of the events listed in the bible proving the texts to be true.
1- Some evidence of the flood in Genesis was found, but some argue it was a worldwide phenomenon but mostly a regional flood. [1]
2- Merneptah Stele (1208 BC): Engraved rock confirming the presence of Israel in Egypt. That rock was made by Merneptah who was a Pharaoh in Egypt[2].
3- According to the bible Israelites settled into the land of “the land of Rameses” (Gn 47:11), where Joseph had placed is family. And archeologist discovered Canaanite pottery and weapons in that city also rooms layout like Israelites structural housing types.
Also were found the remnants of a statute of a semitic man with a multicolored robe. In that city were found evidence of a growing Asiatic group that suddenly abandoned the city after the reign of Amenhotep II (Pharaoh that many historians placed at the time of the Canaanites in Egypt), matching the writings in the bible.
4- There is evidence in Egyptians paintings that they had slaves (the tomb of Rehkmire 1470-1445 BC), of Nubians and Asiatic people working on building bricks, which was considered a slave job. (Egyptians called people from Canaan “Asiatics”). (Joseph’s family from Canaan)
5- Some refutes that Moses actually wrote the first 5 books of the bible since they did not have an Israelites alphabet yet, but a rock with the inscriptions of the initial Hebrew languages was found in Egypt at Serabit el-Khadim, an Egyptian turquois mine in the Sinai, therefore there was an alphabet that Moses could have used for the first inscriptions. Still debated amongst scholars. Remember though that Moses was educated and literate, taught in Pharaoh’s palace.[3]
6- The Exodus Road taken by the Canaanites was corroborated with a map like relief in the Karnak Temple[4].
7- There is also historical evidence of war between the Moabites and Israelites as cited in the bible[5].
8- Multiple inscriptions were found proving the existence of the kings of Israel including King David[6] as the second king of Israel.
9- There is no physical evidence of Yashua’s existence, but scholar do not refute he was indeed alive. He was mentioned in Jewish and Roman documents corroborating his life history as written in the New Testament. Cornelius Tacitus confirmed the condemnation of Yahshua by Pontius Pilate
10- Historian Flavius Josephus who was well connected and present at the earliest stages of the formation of Christianity as we know it today also wrote about the life of Yahshua, though he was a nonbeliever. [7]
All those points mentioned previously are physical evidence of the statements made in the bible, but historical evidence stands as strong as physical evidence. Considering Israelites existed and Jewish traditions and relics still affirm their history and the existence of what was stated in the bible to be true like many other historical stories today, it must also be considered.
Also, to not be taken lightly is the fact that most miracles or events like the voice of Elohim heard at mount Sinai, occurred in front of multiple eyewitnesses to account for its reliability. Exodus 19-20
Note also that the miracles performed by Yahshua were performed in the presence of eyewitnesses [8] Today in court, we do consider eyewitnesses as a proof of truth, therefore historical texts should be accepted under the same rule for a fair treatment.
More recent recollections of the Christian persecutions (Time of emperor Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus) are more commonly accepted as historical facts, same goes for emperor Flavius Valerius Constantinus who is known for converting to Christianity…affirming the existence and formation of the earliest Christians following the death of Christ.
The different books of the bible were written by different authors with different positions at different times, kings, scribes, judges, prophets… yet the consistency in the text was maintained[9] throughout all scriptures.
Moreover, multiple relics were found in different languages proving the reliability of the canonic texts, [10] both for the old and new testaments.
We have more then enough evidence to confirm and prove the veracity of bible texts whether we chose to believe them or not.
