How do you recognize true friendship?
The known expression says you recognize your true friends through hardship. Is that really true ?
I realise that some friends and close ones will sit with you through pain and tough situations but can't handle your joys! Are they true friends then ? Is that a real show of love ?
Why is it that one will support you in your painful moments and struggle to rejoice with you in your happy times ? Is love not shown through both, happiness and the sadness ?
What does the Bible say about love ? 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.
"Love does not envy or boast"...Could it be that the close one that cannot rejoice with you in your happy time suffers envy ? Love "endures all things", through thick and thin, good and bad.
Reevaluate the people in your life and reset your standards, whether you have true friends of seasonal friends.
May Yah surround you with people that love you according to His definition.
